First and foremost I've been a loyal fan since I first saw you guys rock at woodstock '99. I went out and bought the self titled album, and was hooked. Since then, I went to every local show in Cleveland and Pittsburgh that I could untill April of '03 when I had a massive stroke. I was devistated because of the fact you guys were on your faceless tour that summer and were going to be in Cleveland on memorial day. I was so depressed because I was paralyzed and bedridden at the age of 25. My now ex brought me the faceless CD to the hospital to cheer me up. Good thing, my roomate snored all night long and I never got any sleep. I listened to the cd everynight while I slept. I was so depressed I thought about just ending it, then Marc (my now ex) promised me that if I worked hard and re-learned to walk, he would take me to the concert. Needless to say I worked my ass off going to therapy as an inpatient three times a day for a month to learn to walk again. I was there at the concert in the handicap section at Blossom and that was when I thought to myself there is sooo much to stick around and live for. It is six years later, I'm now married, and I'm popping my hubby's Godsmack Cherry tomorrow in Pittsburgh at the Post Gazzette amp. I can't wait! I saw you guys at crue fest two weeks ago in Cleveland, but this time I'm bringing my hubby and we got VIP tix this time. I'm hoping I get to meet you one day so I can thank you personally for saving my life. I know it sounds cheesy but it's true. I've wanted a tribal sun tatoo for ten years, but I am using that as my reward for losing the 50 pounds I've gained since my stroke. I love you all dearly,, and Sully, your smile and enthusiasm on stage excites me in a way I can't explain. Thank you so much for everything.... Dana Roth
Dana, that is a fantastic story. I am happy for you that you had the strength to get better and that Godsmack has helped you out in such a major way. There are numerous people here who have similar storied, but it just blows me away each time I read a new one. Congrats, and keep on rockin!

Wow, thanks for sharing your story. I'm in Pittsburgh and I'll be attending CrueFest2 today as well! Godsmack has helped not only me in life and tough times but a lot of other smackers here as well. Glad you found the strength and willingness to get better. Keep rockin' and enjoy the concert tonight!
