GODSMACK Frontman Talks About Songwriting Process, Pre-Show Rituals; Video Available - May 15, 2009
Rockerrazzi.com recently conducted an interview with frontman Sully Erna of GODSMACK. Watch the three-and-a-half-minute chat below. He discusses what he does for warm-ups before every concert and how the music-making process works for him.
GODSMACK is part of the lineup for MÖTLEY CRÜE's Crüe Fest 2 tour, which will also include THEORY OF A DEADMAN, DROWNING POOL, and new act CHARM CITY DEVILS.
Sully has completed work on his first solo album, although he has yet to reveal a title or release date for the disc. Instead, the New England-based Erna has been spending a lot of time in Los Angeles lately, where he told The Pulse of Radio he's taking a different approach to getting his new music heard. "What we're doing right now is just speaking with a lot of different film companies to see what movies are coming out this year and next year and trying to attach some of the songs to that, 'cause it's a very different kind of sounding record," he said. "It's definitely a huge departure from anything I've ever done."
Erna also confirmed that writing is underway for GODSMACK's fifth studio album and first collection of all-new material since 2006's "IV", with the record likely to come out in 2010.
