I have been having experiences where I sense my intuition has been becoming stronger. I was wondering what people do to strengthen their intution? How does one make sense of the messages that they receive?

Hi Blue. I think when it comes to intuition, I have a long way to go with it. But one thing I have learned is to listen to it. For me, its hard to determine when I have that feeling about something and when I am anxious something bad is going to happen, which one is actually the intuition. Because of that, its hard for me to understand it and develop it. But it has proved to be important for me in dealing with people and over time I have learned to listen when I have that gut feeling about someone. For example, at my last job, I used to interview people. I had a great sense of reading people. So much so that one of my old General Managers could tell by the look on my face whether a candidate was worth his time to do a second interview with. If I didn't listen to my gut feeling, I found out why I had the hesitation about someone down the road. And it usually wasn't anything tangible I could say about them. I think I'm going to google it and see what I can find over the next week.

Hope your having a great weekend Blue. wave

Thank-you for your response to my thread. I have been trying lately to pay more attention to any messages that receive. But more importantly how to make sense of them.

I appreciate your insight. My situation is similar to what you were mentioning about trying to see if it is my intuition or me anticipating something bad that might happen.

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

Listening to my intuition has made it stronger, and given me a better feel for it. At first it often made no sense at all, but I learned to go with it anyway. Later on you usually find the 'that makes sense' part out. Over time you trust it more and can judge it better. Experience will breed confidence. It's always been my thought that if you knew all the reasons to begin with it wouldn't really be intuition. I think a lot of people fail to trust intuition because they can see no concrete reason behind it, and they may not like/understand/fear what intuition is telling them. It's often easier to deny it and kick yourself after than to act on intuition alone at the outset.

It will enhance on its own with time as long as you keep working on it. Just listen carefully to that little voice inside every time it tries to tell you something. Check with your intuitive reaction after the fact every time, and you should gradually learn when it was just an anticipation of something (not necessarily bad) and when it was your intuition at work. I firmly believe that we all have the ability to assert a situation or a person without reasoning, but our surrounding is not nurturing this ability and we keep relying on logics and reasons even when they mislead us or when there is no time for that.

Just a thought: do you like to do something creative? Drawing, painting, writing, any crafts? These activities free up the same part of the mind that is responsible for intuitive reactions, so if you engage in any of these or anything creative at all that does not require you to use logics, you will be strengthening your intuition. Warning: coloring by numbers and the likes do not count, you won't have much opportunity to make intuitive decisions with any of that. Oh, and don't rush the process, it will only slow you down.

CoffeeOwl, Thank-you for your suggestions. I do appreciate it. Funny enough, I have been thinking about doing more writing, lately. I used to write in a journal on a somewhat regular basis and write short stories. I do think that is something I should make some time for.
