I usually like to combine the two aspects of it, the costumes, candy and taking the little sprite out trick or treating. But I also like to keep the silent supper aspect as well. This year I'm thinking of taking up a new tradition, and do an after supper ritual for myself, wife and daughter. At midnight, I'm planning to walk just down the street to the riverside, walk around down there, and maybe cast a spell, or do a ritual to mark the end of my current job (my last day is October 31st, which however I'm taking vacation on) and to start the task of getting into college and getting another job to make the money I need to keep the family in food and stuff. Possibly a powerful wish if I can do it. I have to raise a lot of energy, since I've been so drained lately with all of the goings on.
I am forced to celebrate samhain alone because there arent too many real wiccans around. Meaning people who are wiccan and don't just say they are for the spells and stuff that doesnt make you wiccan.
SO I am probably just going to do the celebration alone as usually so I stay home for it. Possibly give candy to trick-or-treators.

How did it go for the 2 of you? We had a ritual and a party afterward. It was a nice ritual. We're still all new with each other and getting comfortable so I still stutter a little sometimes but all in all it felt good.

I didn't get to do what I wanted, since after the news interview about being laid off, the trick or treating, and the hanging out with friends, I was tired. I do plan on getting to do something around this weekend. Here's hoping.
On Oct 31st, I have open rituals with friends usually. This yeah we had a small group do a closed ritual.
We had three High Priestesses of different Traditions all Aspect a different Goddess so we could speak with them directly. Then we had a Dumb Supper after the Ritual.
I had another ritual with another group on Nov 1st and my private Samhain ritual on the date my tradition celebrates. When the Sun goes 15 degrees Scorpio (around November 6/7th.)
