My wife and I was talking all night last night (I passed out around six this monring) and she wanted me to inquire about something strange. When its late at night and her eyes are really dead tired and its dark she can see a bright white and blue type of light. Only she can see it and this light is in a strange shape. Kinda tall and really blurry. It doesn't fade away when she looks away and than back it follows her around until eventually she's asleep or her eyes aren't tired enough to see it.
We both thought it might be something to do with mystical or spiritual so she wanted me to ask so if you have any ideas please get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you

Robert, I have no idea off hand what it could be that she is seeing. I'll do some digging and get back to you.

Could it have something to do with being really tired? I don't know what she is seeing, but perhaps it might have to do with being overtired possibly?
Are the lights in a vision, or does she see them see them?

If it only happens when she is extremely tired, then I think it may be somehting physical causing this. If she were to see it at other times, then it could be something on the spiritual nature. Of course, and this is just my mind wandering here, if it is something spiritual, it could be she only sees it then because she is tired enough to let go of practical, logical thinking and her mind be open enough to accept what she is seeing. The first thought that popped into my mind is Indigo Children, but I don't know anything about them. It could be she is able to see her guardian angel, or one of her spirit guides. There are so many possibilities, that one really can't be sure which it is. But I think the first step would be to visit an eye doctor and rule out physical causes.
Just had this memory pop into my head, so I thought I would add it, for thought's sake... One of the investigations that I was working on last year, the lady of the house said that an image similar to what you have described had been seen in the house by her youngest son on a few occasions. She said that her ex was supposed to be able to astral project, and the times he said he had done that coincide with the times that her son saw this image. So there is that added to the pot.

Okay please tell me more about the whole Mary thing. Kayla is Catholic so for some reason my instints tell me it might have something to do with that. What would it mean?

most likely it is the ghost of someone she knew of . or even a ghost or spirit that lived in the house before the two of you moved in. beings like that must be taken extreamy serious, if not things can go haywire. i know. i have a pet ghost cat, and when i ignore him, all hell brakes loose. {almost literally ^^;}
In my expiriance of the dream world however, i have found that everyone that dreams, even animals, have what i call "dream guardians" they enter this world through what's called the "dream gate" or "dream mirror" of a person's soul. but the are not always good. infact some of them can be down right crule. it would seem to me, as the fact that she can only see this apperition when awake, yet tired segests that it is indeed a dream demon guardian. if she has been haunted by nightmares i would say she has a bad demon with her, if not it is one under my oun father, and would tell you not to worry to much about inless the dreams change.

Well, some believe that there is a state of mind between awake and sleep, sometimes dubbed "gnosis," where one can "see" the clearest on a metaphysical level. Maybe attempting to interact with it on some level could help her understanding.

Or it could just be the very tired brain trying to get the body to slip into sleep. Each brain is different and will react to being very tired in a different way. Some people may pass out, some people may get really really physically excited (then pass out), some people may get really groggy (go figure). Some people get headaches, some people get eye aches. Some people may hear music (because their brains are trained to sleep to music whether it is there or not) and some people may see things.
The tired brain is essentially a computer running Microsoft. No one knows where its going or whats its doing.
