BBC Looking for the Real Harry Potter Friday, 26 January 2007 Written by Alexander G. Rubio
"Whoa! Dude, it`s... Magical Idol?!" Evangelical and Catholic Christians, of the slightly barmy variety (and yes, that includes the present pontiff), have been convinced for some time that Harry Potter is part of a fiendish plot to bring the wee innocent ones to the dark arts of Satan. Yes, J.K. Rowling is, when she's not busy being non-existent, accused of being a minion of the Prince of Darkness, tasked with gathering all children unto him.
It will hardly come as a profound surprise to these people that Auntie Beeb is in on the diabolical scheme as well. The BBC is cooking up the ultimate Satanic twofer in their cauldron - Hogwarts and Reality TV... It's a match made in...
The BBC is to set up a Hogwarts-style magic school to coach real life Harry Potters for a new TV series.
Public auditions were held across Britain to chose 14 boys and girls ages 9-13 year old, to take part in "The Sorcerers Apprentice".
They will then be sent to a boarding school in the English countryside for 18 days of intense training by top professional magicians.
As well as learning tricks, the children will be schooled in magic history and folklore, told the Latin terms for casting spells, and taught how to look after resident magic animals. CBBC creative director Anne Gilchrist says: "The Sorcerer's Apprentice is going to be a great event. Children of all ages are fascinated by magic and this show will inspire and amaze in equal measures."
Barney Harwood, who currently presents Totally Doctor Who, will front the series as the children progress.
The children watching at home will also get to learn magic tricks, in an accompanying morning series - which is yet to be named.
The magic mentors will give away their secrets and perform step-by-step guides, so children can learn and perform the tricks themselves.
The show will air later this year, and in the US when the riots have been water-cannoned into submission to The New World Order...
Sweet ****ing christ!!! Can't these unoriginal ****waffles see that the reality TV show thing is so overdone that its like chewing on a shoe warmed twice over. I'm sorry, but I feel we should take up arms, write all the nasty ****ing letters we can (but leave the colorful verbs and adjectives out) to all of these people, Tyra, BBC and that other show doing the show on Witch School in the States...
****in grr, argh
Can't these people put that creative energy to good use and write a good goddamned sitcom already?
Wahoo! Lets further encourage the misguided beliefs people have about the Harry Potter series! Doesn't this Western society just know how to have fun? *sighs and bangs head against keyboard* Heck, I took a magic course when I was younger. Stage magic, of course, but none the less fun. We didn't have Harry Potter though, and quite a few people committed to the belief that the series is designed to convert their children to "Satan". Don't worry, at the very least I'm sending Tyra a nastygram.
May the holidays roll over and die, I will now eternally be a bah humbug! No Christmas, no Thanksgiving, no Halloween, no Easter, may the holidays end forever! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Listen to the song of the siren!

Whatever sells. At least they haven't actually picked on Wicca.

If you get over that 'k' in the end, you will have nothing but a homonym. Homonyms can't be even remotely offensive, and if not for Crowley (and that was an arbitrary move on his part), we would still have 'magic' for craft.
