Since before I moved out here to the hill country I have had a dream of owning my own magick shop as a day job. I thought I'd move out here and open a little place with herbs, books, oils and candles... some stones and nice jewlery.... but when I got out here, there was already a nice little shop here. I have watched over the last 7 years as every other shop opened and closed and that one little shop stayed long and strong.
Day before yesterday, I went in to pick up a few candles and some Amber. To my shock and AWE there was a little sign behind the register that said (shop for sale, Owner retiring). My heart started beating hard in my chest. Ya'll I want that little store! I want it bad!
Right now it's small. There's no raw herbs, no library... a very small amount of spiritual antiquities... all the oils are bought instead of made... the incense is the same way. I could do wonders there, given the opportunity.
Today I'm going to talk with the store owner. I need her to owner finance the shop to me for about a year or two until I can come up with the down payment.
Will you all say a prayer for me? I'll let you know how the meeting goes.
I truly hope it works out. It would be a great day job and a steady source of a little bread and butter income. I'm not looking to get filthy rich. I just want to bring to life a place where people can get the spiritual and physical things they need to shape the world around them into something that will help them thrive both physically and spiritually.
This would mean my actually having something I love to do by day as much as I love music. Doing something I love all day and coming home to make music I love at night.... It would be like a dream come true.

Ya'll, I met the owner. She is the coolest lady I have ever met. She's 63 and looks great! She's a healer and is in to all the stuff I am and more. Who would have thought I would run into some one who was into gnosticism, geomancy, theology, Angel Magick, Alchemy, Jesus and all the other odd stuff that I am so deeply involved in? On top of that, she told me things about me that NO ONE knows except my hubby. It was truly a spiritual and faith affirming event for me.
We sat on the porch at the store for 2 and a half hours and smoked, talked and caught up with one another like we had known each other for ever but hadn't seen each other in ages. I have never had that sort of connection with a perfect stranger.
She told me her dreams had told her she would meet some one this month that was just like her and that is who she should give the shop to. She said she believes I am the person! At this point I am so excited to have met her, that even if I don't get to have the shop, the things I could learn just from having her be a part of my life is nothing short of a blessing!
We use the same bank, so she called them yesterday and asked them to get preliminary paper work started on Monday to see if we can transfer title and loan etc without my having to pay a huge down payment. She said we're going to try to find some way to make it work.
We also managed to get all the trax done for the album. We finished mastering the first song yesterday. Could it be that the mercury retrograde is actually good for me?
