wave all,
I have did some very simple spells with herbs and oils and I am proud to say they actually worked and the outcome has been very positive for those I used them on/for.
My question is about an oil I have no clue what it is used for..."DEW BERRY" the smell of it is wonderful and uplifting but i can't find what it is used for. Any idea? Please let me know I am most greatful.

Greetings,
If you can tell us what berry is used in the oil, we could be of more help. Most berries are associated with prosperity, wealth and luck.

Greetings,

Blackberry:
Folk names:
Bly
Bramble
Bramble-Kite
Cloudberry
Thimbleberry
Goutberry

Gender: Feminine

Planet: Venus

Element: Water

Deity: Brigit

Powers: Healing, Money, Prosperity

Ritual uses: Blackberry was considered to be sacred to some of the old Pagan deities of Europe, and was used in worship. Blackberry pies are baked on Lughnasadh by many Wiccans in commemoration of the harvest. Blackberry is seen poetically as the death of the God.

Magical uses: Blackberry leaves, essences, vines, as well as the berries are used in spells of wealth, prosperity and protection and healing.

Here are two great reference sites for working with essences and herbs.

then burned. For these types of spells, it is always best to use the
seven day candle design. Knob candles also work well for these, the user lighting the next knob of the candle each day with their intention in thought. *note: some of these herbs can be ingested, HOWEVER do not do so unless you are an experienced herbalist or have received clearance from a doctor or pharmacist.

Dewberries are actually a wonderful tasting berry common in the deep south. Not nearly as seedy as blackberries and have a lighter taste. Make great jelly and jam too!!!!! They grow along fence rows, just like blackberries.

*edited to add the link for dewberries from wikipedia

Thank you my friend! I had never heard of Dew Berry, being a northerner all my life! Scott Cunningham had them listed as a folk name for Blackberry. Are they used in the same way for magical purposes? According to your wonderful link they are of the same family as the blackberry, so I am wondering what the magical properties are or if they have the same associations as the blackberry?

I use dried dewberries in some of my tea mixes to help soothe and calm. It also has the happiness of brightening people up when they smell it brewing. Smiler
