First I'd like to apologize for not being on much as of late; my computer and charger are not working properly and I need to take them up to Columbia to get fixed. Well, for starters, I've considered myself Wiccan for over a year now(since October '05), but I have not been practicing it. I've been feeling empty and hollow lately and decided to start reading up on it. Well, I just finished Wicca: A book for the Solitary Practioner (srry if I messed that title up) by Cunningham. It was great I loved it. And Im starting on another one. Im gathering up supplies for my own solitary initiation..though I've considered myself Wiccan, I'd like to pronounce it fully and in my own way to the Lord and Lady. I have no problem there, but my problem is that I know I cannot learn all I wish from just books..I'd like to take some courses and have an experienced instructor on Witchcraft/Wicca. And I'd also like to join a coven someday when I have finished my courses and am familiar with Wicca to not have to look in books for every single little detail on spells. I've looked at Laurie Cabot's website and have found that they do online courses as well as courses in Massachusatts. I am not able to travel to Mass. as of yet, but would like to someday. So, I was thinking about calling and paying for online courses. So, my question is ...is this a good idea? I've read up on Cabot and I like what I see, but does anyone have experience to tell me if this is a good path, or should I choose some other place or person for my instructer? There are many things/spells/rituals, etc. that will not be placed in books or websites..and this would stump my learning, I'd like to get into Wicca as deeply and fully as I can. Which is why I'd like to study and learn from experienced Witches/Wiccans and then possibly join a coven someday. Any help would be much apprieciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Blessed Be!

Becky,i think learning and reading all you can from all sources helps. it will give you a chance to see
just what path you want to travel on the wiccan road.
i also think it's important to go with your heart, what your inner knowing is telling you. if you feel that you want to learn about it from a certain person or group,go for it! and here is another site you can check out! www.witchschool.com

I agree..I am going to read up on as many books as time and money permit. I finished the Cunningham book in just a few days and have already started on another one. I'll probably empty the shelves of Barnes and Noble within a few months lol. I figure I can try out the Cabot courses and if I don't like them..no biggie..I'll just move on to something else. Thank you for the link Dev!

Missouri is one of the most inconvenient places to live unless you are by St. Louis or Kansas City..but I like it out here in the country. I am in mid-Missouri near Jefferson City.

Thank you! I don't think those are within a 2 hour drive..but what I mainly wanted was Instructers and advice if anyone had any experience with Cabot's teachings. I think Sully actually took some of her courses and liked them, but he seems to be having some inner trouble as of late..I think..I can't say for sure obviously ..I don't know the man...So, if anyone can give me some incite on Laurie's courses that would be awesome!

Becky - the link Dev provided is a great school. And the best part, is that a lot of their courses are FREE. I have been affiliated with them for over four years now, and I love them. Cabot's courses are good too, but you have to pony up the dough. Wish you the best on your path.

Thanks for the advice! Im in the process of getting a third job so I may or may not take the Cabot courses depending on money. I already work 50-60 hours a week, but Im wanting to get a 3rd job so I can start saving money. Im wanting to go to Ireland on my 21st birthday so Im gonna start saving up the dough!! lol I might be going by myself unless I find somebody fun to go with. So far I don't know anyone other than Lady Red Rose who would be a blast to go with lol. You go Red!
