A few years ago we had a small Pagan group here that would meet somewhat regularly and post on our online Yahoo bb. But because of politics and egos it got torn apart. And everyone quit talking on the local online bb. I had been feeling a lack of community and belonging and maybe direction in my life so I posted on the Yahoo group trying to get some activity going and some really lovely, committed people started posting and we've started meeting. This started in June. Me and Sophia have also recruited people that weren't online that we know and even though some have not been able to make it to every meeting the basic group is there. We've even done a couple of rituals and tomrrrow we're having a potluck/feast and ritual. Each time we have a meet and greet or ritual I am so excited about being with all of these people. (I have to mention this is how I met my friend Eric that I've talked about but it isn't just about him.) I am not a leader and I don't know enough about being Pagan to be a leader but I am so open to learning and participating.
Perfect love and perfect trust. Sophia said that and that's what it feels like. I mean we're by no means perfect but we've all had the same experiences in that there was so much squabbling in other groups we've belonged to that we feel like this is "the one". That we can all work together even though we all have different beliefs. Our basic beliefs are the same and that's what we remember.
So wish us luck that we can keep working together and still feel so comfortable with each other!

Glad you got it back on track, Nancy. I know fist-hand how sore egos can negatively affect a good group, am dealing with it right now. Damn egos.

I love the group I go to, I don't get to go every month because its so far away and money is tight right now, but I do go because of the simple fact that those people, regardless of how much it may hurt them to do subconsciously, put their egos aside and enjoy brotherhood. We just hang out, enjoy each other's company, and just have a damn good time! We've done a few rituals together as well, and everytime I go I leave fully charged and plugged into myself!

Today is our ritual and feast. I made an apple pie. One member is making a turkey - YUM. The weather is cooling off so we won't be sweating while we're outside.

The ritual was very nice. Although I stumbled through my part LOL. And the feasting and just being with friends was very nice. Bev and Max have such a beautiful yard. The deer kept coming into the circle while we were eating near the house. They kept eating the stuff on the alter and the squash near the canned foods we were going to donate. Pests. And we were taking turns chasing them away but the deer aren't afraid of people in Columbia. But it was fun watching my friends - especially the men - make fools of themselves LOL.
