I've found out about this form of religion... I must say that I find much interest in it. I've read a few things here and there (I'm planning on checking out books from the library to study up on it), but I don't know too many people around the area I live in who are related to that form of religion. I thought it would be very beneficial if I perhaps could hold conversations with those who are involved in it. It would be tremendously appreciated if someone out there could kind of help me out here. I would like to learn more and I think it is better to hear it from those who practice it rather than just reading it from a book. A thousand thanks to those who have taken the time to read this and another thousand for those who help!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you again! Yes. I was just so excited to learn about it... I know that my mother would disagree with my choice, but I think I'd feel complete if I were allowed to practice Wicca. Thanks for understanding! hug!

I cant say that I have been through the roughs of the parent aspects. My father was wiccan for many years, so i guess i came by it naturally. He was very excited to hear my initial interest in it, when I was about 10 years old. My mother is one most open-minded people you could ever want when it comes to life stuff like that. She is very happy and interested about my decision.
But keep in mind, that parents are always going to have some sort of beef with one or more of their children's decision(s). It is just something that happens. if you are lucky, they wont hold it to you very hard. But if they do, and they love you, they will understand your passion for it, and maybe tone down their negative thoughts. good luck with all of that. Keep us posted!

blessed be

I am not Wiccan, so there is not point for you in talking to me, but go to http://witchvox.com/. On the home page, closer to the bottom, there is a a group of drop downs. Look under "Pagan Groups", choose "Path" from the drop down below, type "Wicca", and the search will return a list of local Wiccan groups with states and city names. See what's close to you. Pagan groups are generally very open to newcomers.

AKuma once you start looking around, maybe find a metaphysics/new age religion shop and talk to a few people. you WILL be amazed at how many of us there are around. possibly even people you already know like coworkers. Witchvox is an excellent source to find groups, shops and events close to you.

Thank you, to all. I don't know what else to say... perhaps one of you can share what it was like to have found the religion... maybe what kind of growth has occurred? Something of the sort. I'm still looking for some people 'round here, but not too much luck so far. One of my acquaintance's aunt is Wiccan.

ask away sister! I can give you some insight, but everything, including wicca and what it does for someone, is very personal. So what I can tell you is just my account. But I would love to help!

That would be great! Thanks! Umm... sister? Lol. I'm a guy, lol. No worries, though. It would be nice to hear someone else's experience. I think it would help me. It would give me some insight, perhaps. I don't completely understand all the Wiccan practices either... but I guess I need a teacher for that, or so I'm told.

oh....hahahahah...sorry. You'd think that I would have checked that before I said something. Oops, sorry.
and you dont necessarily need a teacher. I never had one. I was self taught. I got insight from other people, but I am a solitary practitioner.

ok brother...haha...and thats probably the last time I ever refer to you as brother cuz it makes me think of some hippie from the 70's, like Cheech and Chong or something. Which is funny, but not me!

Just find some books, and read up. There are different branches as well. I study celtic wicca. And like Ignitia said you dont have to have a teacher. It can be nice to find someone you can chill with. I know when i was starting out that really helped me, just to have someone to talk to about it.

Okay. I will research my butt off, lol. I'm planning on going to the library. Do you recommend any book that I should check out? As for Ignitia... its okay! If you want to call me sister, I ain't got a problem with that, lol.
