I thought it might be a good time to start an open discussion on Spirituality. I believe that evey person carries the seed of enlightenment within. This has been called by many, the deeper self, the knower in you who dwells behind the thinker, and immediately recognizes spiritual truth, resonates with it and gains strength from it. I can't tell you any spiritual truth that deep within you don't already know. Living knowledge, ancient and yet new, is activated and released from within every cell of your body when consciousness is awakened. If I quote the words of Jesus, Buddha or other teachers, I do so not to compare, but to draw you towards the fact that in 'essence' there is and always has been only one spiritual teaching, although it comes in many forms. Some of these, such as the ancient religions, have been so overlaid with extraneous matter that their spiritual 'essence' has almost been completely obscured. Their deeper meaning is no longer seen and the transformative message and power have been lost. The one spiritual teaching, the essence of all religions, does not come from external sources but from one true Source within, it contains no labels, no theory or speculation. There is something within you that remains unaffected by the transcient circumstances that make up our life situations and only through surrender do you have access to it. It is your life, your very Being--which exists externally in the timeless realm of the present. Finding this life "is the one thing that is needed" that Jesus spoke about. Surrender is inner acceptance of what 'is'. What do you see as the greatest obstacle to Awakening Consciouness?
"The Way of the river is flowing down the mountain's side and winding its way through the valley. And the Way of the cat is curling up in a soft and sunny spot. My Way leads me to solitude on the mountain's edge.
Finding your Way is not a difficult task. It is already there before you. You just need to close your eyes and let it be." The Chronicles of SiJi Tzu; Raymond Larose

hello mommymoonbaby,i was just talking about this with my husband the other day.i was comparing putting a puzzle together to finding ones inner truth. i told him that, for me,it's like when you put a puzzle piece in the puzzle to see if it fits.it may look like it will fit,but when you try it,there is a little piece missing.that is the way i have gone through my life in the last 5 years.well, actually i've noticed it all my life, but it really has become obvious to me now.i have found some pieces of the puzzle that seem to be missing something, and then i have found some that fit just right.the ones that fit just right are the ones that, like you said, resonate within and give me strength.
"Coming empty-handed, going, empty-handed-- that is human. When you are born, where do you come from? When you die, where do you go? Life is like a floating cloud which appears. Death is like a floating cloud which disappears. The floating cloud itself originally does not exist. Life and Death, coming and going, are also like that. But there is one thing which always remains clear. It is pure and clear, not depending on life and death.
Then what is the one pure and clear thing?"

I feel that my own greatest obstacle was my involvement in *life* itself! Physical life, material issues, financial woes. Once I had my NDE and was *shown* things, I was no longer concerned with this human existance. I realized that my body is just a shell, a form, to hold my true inner essence.
These days, I try to always look at the bigger lessons that I may learn from what is going on in my life and around me. The only real thing is Spirit and our constant struggle to reunite with our Creative Spirit. I know that all things will work out and lessons should and will be learned-- whether it be in this physical incarnation, or the next.
My goal is to learn all the lessons that I can, so that I do not have to learn them in another incarnation.

i agree with the way you see things Mama.i also try to learn from life's lessons.i realize that they will be repeated if they're not learned, either in this life or the next.
Lilacs and lilies, Laced about my brow, I've bent to the grass, Touching earth with my finger tips, Breath deeply in as I swallow the air, Crying tear of joy in devotion to water, Circling round the heat I waver with fire.
I am naught but an earthly witch, Not searching for the higher powers, I have been given such great gifts, In the power of the life I hold on to, Why do I need to search for more? I only know what I feel, And you seek more of an answer, Than I can rightly give.

Sometimes when we seek to learn we forget the reason we ask the question for we are to busy trying to find the answer. Enlightenment is more like softly waiting while actively learning about yourself and others, be it a belief in spirituality or a belief in the concrete facts. Although, speaking from experience, sometimes it's damn hard to open up yourself up to a conscious way of thinking.....sometime it's hard to look at yourself and see the faults, while also looking for that thread of the divine within us all.
