People bugging me about being Atheist. I don't care if God is real or not. A person should be allowed there own opinoin on the matter. Do I believe in a higher being? Yeah. But, even if heaven is real I don't think the 'leader' gives a damn if I go to church or not. Religion has been twisted into a method of control to keep some people civilized in this ****ed up world. If anybody on here is really religious go ahead and bash me for it. I don't give a damn because it's a pathetic excuse to drag me down a road that will only leave me with false hope.

SAS, I'm the last to bug you about it. One of my friendships was ruined because she wouldn't leave me alone about going to church with her.
You believe whatever, however you want. That's one of the beauties of being human is our individual nature. No two of us are alike, and I bet no two of us approach religion in the same way, from two of the most devout Catholics to two Pagans to two Atheists.
I feel your pain, and I hope you're able to get it resolved with those you know.

Dunno if it'll work for you or not, but maybe try this... if these people that keep bugging you are friends, gently explain to them that you're entitled to your opinions, as they are to theirs... but you would prefer that they neither ridicule you for yours or attempt to impress theirs on you
If they're not someone you're close to, well... ignore it. You are you, and you have every right to be. Leave it at that.

Well, I don't see too many people here jumping to the "Evil Athiest" conclusion. In the Religion section at least, people are pretty open minded.
Reminds me of a discussion I had with a family member recently.
He made the "christian nation" argument, and I drug out every quote, and listing I could find to prove, that No, it really WASN'T founded by Christians. Heck, out of the first 20 Presidents... TWELVE Were Not Christian of ANY flavor.
Most were Deist. (more or less they think God created the world, and then lost interest.)
