Veteran Smacker

Hopefully this will help him Kat. I pray it will. You and your family deserve to be peaceful, happy, and healthy. Sorry it's taken awhile to post here, I just don't come onto the boards like I use to. I check the PM's then I'm outta here. But I do love you...I think you know that. And I will keep praying for Aiden.

Aiden is very lucky to have such good docs. Hope the formula helps, and quickly. The poor little one had more than enough already. ~~~~~~~ CoffeeOwl I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant. ~ Author unknown ~

Damn, Kat... Are there any other diagnostics that can be done besides the scan? ~~~~~~~ CoffeeOwl I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant. ~ Author unknown ~

Kat, I read above where someone mentioned colic....When our son was only about 6 weeks old, he had colic something terrible and the doc switched formula's probably 4-5 times and did the upper GI thing. Finally my mom,.....good ole' mom....said, put that boy on regular milk! I did and it got better, but then she read somewhere to try Acidophilus milk. I finally found some and tried it....a complete turn around!! I was worried then that he wasn't getting enough nutrients and stuff, so we started mixing single grain cereal in his bottle of milk. (We had to make the nipple holes bigger), but that did the trick. Don't know if this will help or not, but if you are like I was, I was ready to try anything. I did have to have one of the local groc. stores special order the milk for me, because it wasn't a very good seller, but they did it without any hassles. Good luck and keep us posted. I'm glad he's doing better now, Kat. You all will continue to be in my prayers. I have a question for you though........ Have the doctors checked for Pyloric Stenosis? I doubt that is what it is since he is now gaining weight, but it wouldn't hurt to ask the question. Pyloric Stenosis is when the Pyloris, the valve at the base of the stomach which leads to the intestines, is partially or completely closed. My oldest son had that. He cried non-stop for weeks from about 2 1/2 weeks old to 5 weeks old when they finally figured it out and operated. Anyway, he also could not tolerate breast milk nor just about every formula we tried. It didn't matter what it was that I fed him, he threw it up after a while. Turns out that he had Pyloric Stenosis and his pyloris was completely clamped shut. Anything he was fed just sat in his stomach and then eventually came back up, projectile style. He was slowly starving to death and there was nothing I could do about it. Then finally one doctor got smart adn figured it out and by about 6 hours later my son was out of surgery. He is now almost 8 years old and it seems as though he hasn't stopped eating at all since they fixed him when he was 5 weeks old. Anyway, it's just a thought for you to keep in mind incase you need it at some point. s to you and yours! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"The best things in life must be felt with the heart"~~Unknown "The question is not how far.
