I had wiccan beliefs even before I had heard the word. I never believed in god but i knew something joined everything. I think I was around 10 when I found a book at the library about wicca. As I read it all the things I had felt and believed made sense. I was brought up in a Baptist household and let me tell you there were some battles. My mother was so into the church and the goings on, I could never explain why I thought the way I did. She doesn't like my beliefs but at least now she respects them. And she understands them now that we have been able to talk about them. And now there is a lot of peace in my life. She is scared that i will "force" my beliefs onto my daughter. But my daughter like me already has a love of the natural world and the things in it. My daughter is very sensative to emotions of other people and animals, she always has been. my mother says it is because she is a "good girl". I don't think you get to choose to be wiccan, I think It chooses you.
I believe in that old adage, "Whatever floats yer boat..."
As long as yer floatin' - yer good! It's when you sink you gots problems - especially, if like me, you can't swim!
Personally, I am a devout Catholic. That just happens to suit my life. Not because I was raised in it - because upon examination of my life and my beliefs, that's what fit me. But I know that just because it's right for me does not mean it's right for anyone else.
So...HERE'S TO STAYIN' AFLOAT!

I myself have recently found the Wiccan ways too. I spent a lot of time floating with no direction and now that I have direction I feel a whole lot better about myself and life in general. I grew up in a Catholic household and it never sat right with me. So I have to agree with, the comment that you don't choose Wicca, it chooses you.
Blessed Be.
