I was refraining from posting this here.. but I am really in desperate need here. Here is the just of it. I have been going for the last fews weeks with my baby boy Dante not himself.. and he didn't want to eat this last several days. Back on Jan 18th I took him to the vet and found out he has arthritis and gave him some meds and had to syringe feed him back to health he began to eat on his own again and was back to his old self.. Then this past week he acted weird again and then stopped eating on his own.. I have really depleted the available funds I had.. and now he is needing more care.. below is the latest update on him.
Dante is staying under doctors care at the hosptial until Saturday and at that time we will evaluate his progress. His prognosis is as follows:
After bloodtests and radiographs, they discovered that his white blood cell count was at 50 and normally high in Kitties is 20. So therefore showing an infection. The radiographs show inflammation in the lower intestines and pancreas area therefore the cause of him not wanting to eat and being nauseated when smelling some foods. He is able to keep down food by being syringe fed. But he is receving fluids and antibiotics via IV. These procedures began yesterday afternoon and will go on through Saturday.
He has shown improvement and I went to visit him this morning and he was happy to see me. He purred and rubbed his face into my hand . I spent about 2 hours there with him and also got some food down him via syringe.
I am meditating/praying.. etc that these treatments work out. Once he is able eat on his own and pass a stool he wiill be able to come home and receive care orally as opposed to IV.
If you all would continue to keep Dante in your medittions,thoughts and prayers..etc I would greatly appreciate it.
