Thankfully, I'm glad to say I live in Iowa, we finally got it right, we're never ahead of the curve, unless it comes to denying rights.
The thing that ****ing pisses me off is that most of the legislature is pissed at this. WHAT THE FRENCH TOAST, KUMQUAT!?!!? Why are you pissed, the state supreme court found that the law was illegal, and since it was already taken care of in the legislative branch, the court felt it was their turn to step in.
It's like I've said, government is for the majority, the courts are for the minority. The government wants to hold on to old archetypes that no one truly believes anymore, and thus hold back the advancement of others who are of a (as they won't say) lower-class than they are.
I'll be keeping up to date on this for ya!
