I know that this question isn't new, but let's see what people say. What do you like most about Godsmack? What makes them stand out as a band vs. other bands that are out there?

My answer is that Godsmack always stays true to the music and to their fans. They are real people that we can each relate to, they have extraordinary talent that is more than just one dimensional. When I had the opportunity of a lifetime to meet them after their acoustic show they were humble, down to earth, and didn't show any kind of arrogance. That is why I love this band. Their music speaks to my spirit and that is hard to find.

I haven't seen them live YET but I do like how on youtube, Changes dvd etc (where they are live performing), they sound amazing. You know how some bands just aren't the same live? Godsmack sounds great live.
The drum battle is insane and that they truly entertain the fans and I'm sure the concert is worth every penny.

Songs are all good, easy to sing along to and can't help but headbang along...headbang...does everyone lol still do that???

Also loved them unplugged in Vegas...that was right up there with Alice in Chains!!

I will second that Glam and add that it also carries over into the music. When I hear Tony's riffs, Robbie's bass line, Shannon's mad drum beat topped w/ Sully's growl....yeah baby! The chemistry these guys got together...it is truly very rare.

Ok where do I begin?

First of all, Sully, Tony, Robbie and Shannon have an amazing chemistry when working together. Their music is perfect and smooth to the point.

Their live sound is just as good (if not better) than the studio versions. As for the shows, they put on one amazing show. Full of energy and excitement. You'll be keeping your fist in the air and rockin' your head the whole time!

As for music, well I can relate to Sully's lyrics and like I said everything is very well put together. Tony's riffs are amazing as well as his leads. Robbie knows his bass and can rock that thing like no other. And Shannon....well damn dude I don't even know what to say. Master drummer perhaps? *thinks* that sounds good to me! haha

Bottom line is that Godsmack rocks, and their music is a huge inspiration in my life that goes a long way.

I'd have to write a book and that ain't no lie.

I can't even begin to explain what i like about them but i can definitely agree with SerenityNow. They do sound good live. They play an amazing acoustic performance as well.

All i can say is that i have grown up listening to their music since i was a kid and i have yet to hear a song from them that i didn't like. I love Sully's lyrics and they make me stop and think about what they really mean. I respect his story and how he came to be where he is now. All of the guys get along so well too.

After suffering a traumatic brain injury in 2000
I felt lost and didn't know who I was
I am a functioning member of society but my
right frontal lobe is scarred
Then I discovered GODSMACK
They have been my guiding light and have helped me to find myself once again
I am a rocker
Always have been and Always will be
They have helped me to realign and are a part of my daily life
I listen to the Other Side every night as I journal
I have posters all of their CD's DVD's and have been to every concert in my area
Their music has been the biggest factor in my healing process and I could never thank them enough for what they have done for me

And Their Music Kicks A$$

Calliope that's a touching story thanks for sharing. I think godsmack has touched all of us in some way. My favorite thing about them is plain and simple...I love their sound. Sully's voice, the music, all of it. I don't care what kind of mood I'm in happy, sad, pissed, their music fits it! Sometimes it's just sitting back with my eyes closed and listening that just takes me to another place. BUT F##KIN LIVE! To me no other band compares I would follow them almost anywhere to see them perform they ROCK!

I agree with you all the music, the chemistry of the band, all the talent they have! They are the best band ever to me. My kids love them also. My son will only clean his room if I will give up my cds for him to listen to while he is cleaning and he is only 7!!!

Their live shows, their sound, and just their music in general!! It never fails, after a night with Godsmack, Im looking forward to the next time they are in town, already. Its awsome and if by any unfortunate reason you havent seen them live, do it!!!!! As for the their music, I think everyone can relate it back to yourself, someway. Its not so one sided that only a few can relate. Hum, Sully's voice, now who can tell me that you dont love it? All in all, I think they all have amazing talent and they work so well together (as mentioned in earlier posts), soooo, whats not to love?
