Ok I have recently had a fight with a person to remain unnamed. They used the card that the band, Godsmack, is an atheist band. Only due to the name. I tried saying that the band wasn't and simply got the name from Alice in Chains. So my question is, Is the band, Godsmack, in fact atheist?

Ok the band is not an atheist band. Sully is an Wiccan. All the bands members share different beliefs and whatnot. Sully has mentioned in his book that he got the name from an AIC song but felt that he didn't want to copy the band/name.

Then later during a photo shoot, their ex-drummer had a cold-sore on his lip. Sully was the bashing on him all day about it. Then the next morning Sully wakes up with the exact same cold-sore in the exactly same spot. Someone told him that he got "Godsmacked" well there you have it!

Religion and politics......taboo discussions!! Everyone has different opinions which is great. If everyone agreed on everything think how boring the world would be. Believe what you want and it's nobody's business!!!

Totally agree with the last post. My favourite musician of all time outside of Godsmack is a scientologist, something i know very little about, but it has never influenced his music nor my opinion of him as a musician.

I agree - what difference DOES it make??? Music is music!
