First of all, I will be posting this is numerous forums because the subject is brought up all over the place.

Peeps, it is called CrueFest because it is MOTLEY CRUE’S festival…our Boys are GUESTS. And yes, we all know they are tearing up the stage with more energy and rock than the Crue, but STOP saying it should be called SmackFest. They knew when they joined what this was, that they were guests, and NOT the headliner. They will not get a longer set then Motley, that’s just they way it is. If they want a SmackFest, they will organize one. We don’t even have a new disk yet, won’t have it until 2010, but they are still going out there to give us what we want, even if it’s only a small dose. Remember, IT COULD BE NOTHING!!

For those of us who are huge fans of both bands (I have followed Motley since I was 12, I am 38 now) this is a thrill! I’ve seen The Crue enough times to know what to expect; I know Vince puts on a great show, but the singing isn’t where it used to be, that he's running around and so out of breath, that he skips (not forgets!) many words…I know that…I know that, and I STILL want to see them.

And brace yourselves…there are a lot of people going to these shows who are not, or should I say, were not, Godsmack fans. They are going for The Crue, and are getting blown away by the Boys!

The regular family of the Smack Boards knows I don’t usually go on rants like this…I’m just getting really tired of seeing “it should be called SmackFest”…it’s not, it’s not going to change, get over it.

Well said my Sistah! I guess most of the peeps on here just weren't around to enjoy how great Motley Crue was years ago. I am greatly looking forward to seeing Motley Crue. Have been a fan for years.
Also, I agree that everyone should feel honored that Godsmack is out there at all, since the disc (like you said) won't be out for another year.

Yeah, I agree...i think we should all just be patient because who knows...there might actually be a SmackFest in a few years!
