I discovered something and was curious to know that with the songs re-align and Voodoo the lyric “Demons Dreaming” appears in both songs. After reading Edger Allan Poe’s poem The Raven I discovered that in the last paragraph it says “Demons that are dreaming” I wanted to know was an inspiration to the lyrics or just a coincidence?

Could possibly an inspiration, I don't see why not. But knowing Sully and the way he expresses his lyrics and song writing, I think he could have came up with the expression himself.

Now I got the song in my head, which (hence my name) "Re-Align" is one of my favorite songs. And it's a blast to play/perform on guitar. The lyrics flow so easily with the music...love it! Ok i'm done lol.

Sully said that his inspiration for writing Voodoo came from the 80's movie The Serpent and the Rainbow that starred Bill Paxton. As for Realign (one of my favorite songs) he said he wrote it after spending some time in New Orleans....that he was getting weird vibes, etc and went to a fortune teller I believe, where he discovered he was murdered there in a past life if my memory serves me correctly. They come from somewhere.
Hence,a truly good thought would come from someplace/thing good
An evil thought ,dream, from someplace/thing bad.
Maybe a demon. Maybe an angel.
But not from ourselves,that would be like talking to yourself.
Pretty pointless.
But I should proably listen to the whole song to try and piece it together.

Never from your own personal experiences, emotions, inner conflicts? And the brain was put in your head for what? To merely capture outside influences?

Why do you compare thinking to talking? They are farther from each other than apples from oranges.

Oh I agree. Thinking can be expressed by talking, yes, but it is not the same thing.

Where do we go when we just dont know
and how do we relight the flame when its cold

I know its not voodoo or realigh but it pertains to thoughts in the noggin

And past experiences would be more of a memory,
a thought would be something like
"Steal that money off the old mans dresser"
Or "kill youself"

That comes from somewhere.
Human nature would dictate self preservation so
a thought like that wouldnt be natural.
It would be an evil thought that comes from somewhere/thing evil

I didnt really mean to compare the act of thinking to
the act of talking.
I was refering to thoughts that pop into your head,
seemingly from nowhere or according to some,from thier own self.
I dont mean thinking like ,how do I put this puzzle together or like figuring out an algebra equation.
I mean a thought
like "Cheat on your wife"
or Get revenge on that person that wronged you.
That is not an original ,self created thought,
It comes to your head from somewhere or something.
These two examples would come frome someplace or thing not nice,or evil.

As far as talking,what I was refering to was the act of talking to yourself,as being pointless.
Because if you are talking to yourself you are engaging thoughts that pop in your head by speaking out loud to them.
And if someone did this a lot I wold tend to think
they might be slipping into a endless loop of thought that might just drive them crazy.Or maybe...
