My Dear sweet Dante has been in and out of the Kitty hospital for the past few weeks. He was first diagnosed with Arthritis, and then a stomach infection.
Dr Sullivan treated him in the hospital for a few days with IV fluids and antibiotics and we had to syringe feed him. It became very costly and I even had friends who donated to assist with the medical bills.. Saturday(2/14/09) I picked him up because he had been eating on his own and able to go potty..
As the few days progressed he stopped eating and wouldn't even drink water.. so I took him back to Dr Sullivan.. who out of the compassion she has for animals did not charge me to keep him and begin IV fluids and more diagnostics.
Friday, 2/20/09 She did exploratory surgery on Dante since she seen a mass in his last radiograph and discovered it was a cancerous tumor.. I had given her my blessing to put him to rest if that was discovered. She called me during surgery to inform me of what she found and I told her to proceed with what we had discussed. Again no charges were incurred.
This wonderful soul of a human being has all my respect in the world. It is very rare to find that in anyone anymore. She told me she wanted to do this and try to help Dante if she could.. since she is always wanting to do good in this world and help animals however she can.
My heart hurts right now.. but I will continue to brighten up with thoughts of my dear sweet Dante.. he brought us all so much Joy.. and lived a very healthy almost 13 years without any illness of any kind.

Here is a video of pictures I put together of my dear sweet Dante!
I know it's not much, but he is no longer suffering...he's waiting at the Rainbow Bridge, unlimited supply of balls of yarn and catnip-filled toys...and he will always be with you. That little breeze you feel along your ankles - when no wind has blown. That little "force" that swipes your hair over - though nothing is there. That little tug on your shirt - when you're alone in the room. Dante's there...

We are all taught to fear death, yet death is not the taker of life, just the receiver. The ticking of the clock draws us near. Time is death, and it shall take.

Ohh I miss his sweet soft mew.. and his kneeding on the throw pillows and purring and drooling .. But Tilly purrs like a lil motorboat too.. Awwwwww I love her too... but it's still hard..
i'm sending lots of love your way dear sis. dante is trying out his new wings and watching over you from the thin veil of the other side honeybee. i promise this. my bear is always with me and i can see him when i really need to.
So sorry to hear about your Dante. Know he's waiting for you across the bridge and will drown you in kitty kisses and purrs when you meet again.
What you did was in his best interest and shows how much you loved him.
