Well I have been popping into this forum for a few months now and figured it was time to join up. Like to say that I am really glad I "Found" Godsmack so to speak. Being a product of the 80's hair bands and metal and living here in eastern Canada I must say I have been kind of in my own bubble for music. A lot of what I hear today I have no use for and it seems that I'm not one for opening up to new stuff (Exspecialy whats on the charts latley.)....Been a huge Metallica fan for many years and they have been the main staple in my music collection. When Death Magnetic came out I couldn't wait to listen to some decent "New" music. Being in my part of the country there is'nt a big interest in the heavier rock or metal......I had heard the name Godsmack over the years but had never had the oportunity to be exposed to there music. When Good Times , Bad times came out it got local air time on the Radio and I was pretty impressed. Felt it was a great cover of a great song.....One night I happened to have the radio on and a song came on that really struck a chord with me. I had never heard it before but it was definatly my kind of music. I can't rember which song it was to be honest but the DJ said the artist was Godsmack. The next day I was off to the local HMV and picked up Good times, Bad times. After listing to it once I was hooked. Where the hell have I been these last 10 years....I now have all Godsmack's albums, I can't get enough of these guy's. I think I've listened to My Death Magnetic twice since I started listening to Godsmack....The other thing that this has done for me is finally at the age of 40 I purchased my first electric guitar, seem's Godsmack was just the push I needed, Thank you.....PS when's the next album.

Welcome! to your new home and to answer your question...Godsmack is currently writing their new record. Official release date hasn't been announced..but hoping for late 09 or early 10.
